The Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS), funded by the Government of Japan, is now accepting application documents for intake 2017 from the public-sector officials who are interested in studying at any graduate school of 7 selected Japanese Universities*1.

Through the JDS Program, the Government of Japan offers 15 public-sector officials annually and 60 in total between 2014 and 2017 a great opportunity to take a 2-year Master's course in any field out of: 1) Public Policy and Finance; 2) Economics; 3) Business Management; and 4) Environmental Management, Disaster Management and Climate Change.

The JDS Program primarily targets the highly capable and young public-sector officials who are expected to play a leading role in formulating and implementing the national socio-economic development policies of Sri Lanka and become national leaders in the near future.

The 2-year-Master's courses offered by the Japanese Universities are all taught in English.

The total number of the JDS candidates selected from Sri Lanka is 15 per year.
